- Lip enhancement can be used to create balance and symmetry or add volume with lip injections and lip fillers. It can also be used for clients who struggle with wrinkles and fine lines in the mouth area, have thin and poorly shaped lips, or is seeking defined and fuller lips.
- As hyaluronic acid is a substance produced by your body, it is readily accepted. It is a safe and effective way to add or restore volume, correct asymmetry, enhance the lip line, smooth lip wrinkles, add hydration, and subtly enhancing the natural shape, size, and structure. Once it’s injected into your skin, it will slowly break down over the coming months.

- Following the consultation a set of photographs will be taken and stored in your client records profile for monitoring progress.
- During the treatment, a numbing agent will be applied before performing a series of tiny injections to minimise discomfort during the procedure. The treatment is a natural alternative to cosmetic surgery and is virtually painless with long lasting results.
What to expect
- Lip filler results are visibly instant however, it is important to understand that your lips will be swollen, and your lasting results will appear as swelling subsides.
- Long-lasting fillers provide lip enhancement for a duration of 6-12 months, sometimes longer depending on individual metabolic rates
- It is recommended to schedule a follow-up appointment to assess your progress 2-4 weeks after your treatment and again at 6 months.
- Lip Filler can be combined with other cosmetic treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections, which relax facial muscles, or with other treatments that restore skin tone, to rejuvenate the whole face.
During Treatment
- Generally, treatments can take around 30 minutes with minimal discomfort.
- To ensure your comfort, the treated area is numbed during the procedure. The number of injections administered depends on the product amount and desired results
After Treatment
- Following treatment, you may experience some bruising, swelling, and localised tenderness. The swelling will remain but reduce over the next four to seven days.
- You may feel small lumps or bumps in your lips, and we encourage you to gently massage. This aids to soften the filler. Within a week, you’ll enjoy plump, soft, re-volumise lips.
- Although it’s uncommon, if you experience any adverse effects, please contact

Avoid chemical peels and micro-needling for 7 days prior to treatment on the same area

- Avoid alcohol
- Avoid excessive sun exposure
- Refrain from taking over-the-counter medications or multivitamins that may cause blood thinning
- Continue to take any prescribed blood-thinning medications as directed by your GP
- On the day of your appointment, make sure to have a meal and stay well hydrated by increasing your water intake.
Consultation
- All cosmetic injectable treatments require a complimentary consultation with one of our doctors or registered nurses.
- Please advise your clinical cosmetic provider if you are taking any blood-thinning medications (such as aspirin, warfarin or clopidogrel etc.) regardless of whether you’re expecting to have a treatment.
- During consultation, an accurate guide to pre- and post-care recovery is discussed prior to the treatment and a full post-care guide will be provided at your appointment.
During consultation, your treating medical professional will assess your medical history and skin for suitability for treatment.
Lip Filler Injections are not suitable for:
- people with a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
- pregnant or breastfeeding mums
- Under 18 years old
Immediately post treatment
- Ice packs can be used after treatment to the area periodically if necessary. Refrain from consuming alcohol and painkillers like ibuprofen before and after treatment, as they can thin the blood and increase chance of bruising. Also, avoid sleeping on your face for the next 24 hours
48 Hours
Avoid domestic flights, massaging the treated area, alcohol, and heat induced activities, including:
- Steam rooms & saunas
- Swimming pools
- Excessive exercise
2 Weeks
- Abstain from international flights. Schedule a review appointment with your cosmetic nurse injector
- Book a review appointment 2-4 weeks post treatment

Are Lip Filler treatments suitable for men?
Yes, Lip Filler treatments are suitable for men. We have had many male clients who have used hyaluronic acid filler to help accentuate and reshape their lips or add lost volume.
Are Lip Filler treatments painful?
Treatments with lip fillers are relatively pain-free, while some may describe the treatment as mild discomfort. A small amount of numbing anaesthetic cream can be applied to the skin prior to treatment for a more comfortable treatment procedure.
Do lip fillers change your smile?
Yes, the shape of your smile can change if we’ve applied filler to the lines around your mouth.
How long do lip fillers last after you first get them done?
Lip fillers last around six months to a year, when you first receive the treatment.
What happens if I'm unhappy with the outcome?
If you’re unhappy with your lips, you can go back and have the filler dissolved. We can dissolve HA with hyaluronidase — an enzyme which will melt the acid rapidly and safely.
But I really want bigger lips — can I go bigger if I want to?
If you really want dramatically bigger lips, we recommend gradually building your lips up over time. We advise going slowly. Get a small treatment the first time, and then the next time we can add a little more filler.
When can I expect to see results from Lip Filler?
Lip filler results can be seen almost immediately following your treatment. However, it’s important to note that your lips will be swollen. The degree of swelling varies person to person but will usually subside within a few days of your treatment.
